About Bodmin Nursery & The Mill Cafe

Bodmin Nursery is a "proper" nursery in the centre of Cornwall specializing in herbs and herbaceous perennials. With hundreds of varieties of herbs and a few thousand flowering perennials, be prepared to lose yourself in a sea of blazing colour & scent. 

There is a wide range of shrubs, grasses, climbers, alpines, marginal & water plants, fruit & ornamental trees, vegetable plants, bedding & hanging baskets. There are even whole areas dedicated to the more specific challenges of shady and ground-cover gardening.

Bodmin Nursery is the sort of place you thought no longer existed. It is not a garden centre, but rather, a nursery, with traditional growing, fresh & healthy plants, a range that surprises and excites, as well as friendly advice on hand.

Originally the site of a water mill dating from the 17th century, there are 5 acres of plants, all in a lovely countryside setting.

Our propagation and plant-raising facilities are modern, but blended with traditional techniques. Customers are welcome to walk through our 4 glasshouses and tunnels and see the process for themselves.

The Nursery Team are always on hand to give friendly, expert advice. We pride ourselves on our help and service and are happy to help on any query, large or small.

Sorry, but at present we do not offer a mail-order service.

The Mill Cafe serves fresh Italian coffee, as well as delicious home-made light lunches and cakes.  Cosy in the winter and with a sunny terrace in the summer, it is the perfect spot to reflect upon, or plan your choice of plants.  Open every day.

Ample parking. Dogs welcome on a lead. WC. Wheelchair friendly. Flat site - easy to walk.
