Set high on the Atlantic coastline, with the surf swirling below, iconic Tintagel offers a captivating day out. Walk through the extensive ruins and immerse yourself in an intriguing blend of history and legend.
Climb up to the island and enjoy new outdoor displays and works of art which explore how the site developed – from a thriving Early Medieval trading port and settlement, to a castle of romantic legend. The centrepiece of these new installations is an 8-foot tall bronze sculpture inspired by the legends of King Arthur and royal figures from Tintagel’s past.
In the visitor centre you’ll find an innovative 3D display of how Tintagel has changed through time and an exhibition featuring artefacts from past archaeological digs. Together they reveal how Arthurian legends were drawn from and, in turn, shaped Tintagel’s history.
