About Trewidden Garden

Trewidden Garden is a beautiful 15 acre spring garden set in a sheltered bowl next to Trewidden House, easily accessible directly from the A30 near Penzance. One of the Great Gardens of Cornwall and a Camelia Garden of Excellence as awarded by the International Camelia Society, it is home to a magnificent collection of over 300 camellias, many magnolias including a number of champion trees, and one of the finest collections of soft tree ferns in the Northern Hemisphere.

For children (who have free admission) there is a trail set round the garden encouraging them to explore the twisty paths and old burrows, and a tea room offering delicious home made lunches, cakes and cream teas for you all to enjoy after your walk. Dogs are also very welcome to visit.

Although the garden is glorious in spring and always one of the first in Cornwall to be in full bloom, following more recent planting, there is also much summer colour throughout the garden making this a lovely place to visit at any time of the year. Tours with our Head Gardener are available for you to learn more about the fascinating history and many varied plants found at Trewidden.
